sevfive : brightspark?

My driver's licence finally fell due last week after having my old licence for ten years & looking like a child in the photo. The process of renewing my licence was a carefree affair, a couple of forms, a snapshot of my mug & that's about it.

A few days later & I'm now in possession of the new one, but on the attached notice was the following;

"WARNING NOTICE"

"The high level security feature in the transparent window of your licence should only be viewed by holding the licence up to a safe light source sich as a light globe or car headlights. DO NOT look through the transparent window at the sun, a laser pointer or other high intensity light as this may cause irreparable eye damage."

Are you fucking kidding me? What dickhead would look through a piece of clear plastic directly at the sun?!? The sort of people would be those who get transfixed by oncoming cars headlights at night!

It's a very sad world when a warning like this has to cross someone's mind & even sadder when someone thinks it's a good enough idea to put to print.
