It wasn't long after I moved into my place nearly two years ago, that I realised I had a bit of a spider problem. White-tail spiders mostly, crawling where I least expected them & resulting in some significant increases in heart rate.

I took the measures of sealing up all the light fittings (due to the great spider incident of 2009 where I had dozens running across my ceiling) & spraying around all the door & window frames.

It's now a very rare event to see a creepy crawly of the eight-legged kind, but occasionally it traps a big harmless spider like this Huntsman.

Lets make it very clear... Whilst I know the huntsman isn't any danger to us big folk, they're still massive & run bloody quick, so the last thing I want is one belting up my arm & inducing a spasm of all my limbs & gender inappropriate squealing. Getting this close for a photo was only done after realising this spider was very sick from my preventative treatments around my door.

Unfortunately, for this spider, it hung about for a few days on the wall before disappearing but it's unlikely it survived. However, at least I know the spider elimination system is still working fine.

Two Sydney shows & if I'm going over for one, I may as well see the second gig. When they came to Adelaide last time around, it was such an assault on the senses, that I felt like I didn't take it all in, so seeing shows on consecutive nights should solve that problem.

My only other trip to Sydney was back in 2004 & I've been hanging to get back & do a few things, like climbing the coathanger, checking out The Rocks properly & this time... finding a few record stores in the back-streets, but more about this later.
